CELEBRATE LABOR DAY ON THE BIZZ JOHNSON TRAIL
Special Shuttle Service Scheduled

Hikers and mountain bike riders can celebrate the last "official" weekend of summer - Labor Day - by enjoying the Bizz Johnson National Recreation Trail with the convenience of a special bus shuttle.

The shuttle service, offered Saturday, Sept. 3, by the Bureau of Land Management and Lassen Rural Bus, will take trail users and bicycles from Susanville to Westwood, with several stops between. Fees range from $5 to $7.50 per person, depending on the length of the ride.

The shuttle will depart the Susanville Railroad Depot, 602 Richmond Rd., at 8:30 a.m. Depending on the stops, trail users have options of 7, 16, 25 or 30-mile return trips to Susanville. Shuttle users should arrive a half-hour before departure.

The shuttle provides a convenient way for outdoor enthusiasts arrange one-way trips on the trail without having to arrange their own vehicle shuttles.

The Bizz Johnson Trail follows the path of the historic Fernley and Lassen Railroad through the scenic Susan River Canyon. The level, smooth dirt trail is ideal for family mountain biking trips.

For more information or to reserve space, contact the Susanville Railroad Depot (530) 252-3252.
