News Release Susanville Interagency Fire Center For Release: Tuesday,
October 19, 2004 CA-N-05-9
The first, much anticipated rains of autumn have heralded the end of fire season in northeastern California. The Lassen National Forest, Bureau of Land Management and the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection announced that the season officially closes Tuesday, October 19, 2004. The number of firefighting resources
will be reduced, and aerial resources have been released until the start of
next year's fire season. Visitors to public lands in Northeastern California
are reminded that campfire permits are required for areas outside of campgrounds Additional information on burning requirements is available from the nearest Forest Service, BLM or CDF office, or from local fire departments. -BLM- |
