FALL COLORS BIKE RIDE SET FOR BIZZ JOHNSON TRAIL

Autumn colors are ablaze along the Bizz Johnson National Recreation Trail, and a great way to enjoy the splendor is from the seat of a mountain bike.

Again this year, the Bureau of Land Management and Lassen Rural Bus are joining forces to make fall color enjoyment more convenient for outdoor enthusiasts by offering a Fall Colors Bike Ride and bus shuttle service on Saturday, Oct. 23.

The shuttle service will take bicyclists and their bikes from the Susanville Railroad Depot to Westwood, where they can return to Susanville on the trail. Depending on where they leave the bus, riders can enjoy a 7, 18, 25 or 30-mile ride back to Susanville.

Shuttles leave the Depot. 601 Richmond Rd, at 8:30 and 11 a.m. There is a small fee. Riders should arrive at the Depot about a half-hour before departure.
