- Who: The Bureau of Land
Management (BLM).
- What: BLM Wild Horse and
Burro Adoption. 80 wild Mustangs and 20 wild burros will be offered for adoption
to qualified individuals through the BLM's Adopt-A-Horse or Burro Program.
- Where: Noble Creek Park,
38900 Oak Valley Parkway, Beaumont, California (951) 845-9555.
- When: November 6-7 (Saturday
& Sunday), 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The animals will arrive at the Park and around
noon on Friday, November 5, be available for public viewing.
- Interviews: BLM spokesperson,
new and previous adopters, trainer. Upon request, I will provide names of
adopters in your area for possible feature stories prior to the adoptions
- Photo Op: Adoption activities,
adopters with their animals, gentling demonstrations.
Reporters and photographers
are welcome at the adoption site anytime, but two of the best photo opportunities
are on Friday when the animals arrive and are unloaded from the trucks into
the corrals, and Saturday morning when adopters select and adopt a wild Mustang
or burro.
