Four Arrested in California Pot Bust

A multi-agency drug enforcement team arrested three Mexican nationals in Sacramento and Placer Counties last week for conspiring to manufacture marijuana. The individuals are responsible for more than 9,000 pounds of processed and unprocessed marijuana.

During the execution of federal search warrants, the drug team found a portion of the processed and unprocessed marijuana, five weapons, including two assault rifles, and a thousand rounds of ammunition. A day later Forest Service and Siskiyou County Sheriff's Officers arrested a fourth suspect associated with the marijuana cultivation.

A long-term investigation preceded the arrests, and two additional persons are being sought for questioning.

The drug enforcement team consisted of agents from the Bureau of Land Management, California Department of Justice, Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement, Bureau of Tobacco, Alcohol and Firearms, Yolo County Narcotic Enforcement Team, and Placer County Special Investigations Unit.
