HIGH DESERT LAKES ARE LOW; VISITORS SHOULD CHECK ON CONDITIONS

Warm, dry summer and fall weather impacted high desert reservoirs in Northeast California and Northwest Nevada, and anglers should check on conditions before heading out on fall fishing trips.
The Bureau of Land Management said water levels in popular fishing lakes such as Dodge Reservoir, Round Corral, Nelson Corral and West Valley Reservoir are low. Many are not suitable for fishing.
Information on current conditions at specific reservoirs is available from the BLM Eagle Lake Field Office, (530) 257-0456; the Alturas Field Office, (530) 233-4666; or the Surprise Field Office, (530) 279-6101.
