BLM PLANS WINTER AND FALL BURNING PROJECTS

With fire season ended and fire dangers decreased, fire crews from the Bureau of Land Management's Surprise Field Office in Cedarville will turn their attention to fall and winter prescribed burning projects.
Work in the coming weeks will focus on burning piles of brush and juniper limbs created during summer work projects.
The Cottonwood Project, 22 miles south of Eagleville, will consist of about 150 piles of brush. Crews will burn 100 piles of juniper limbs in the Fandango Project, five miles south of Ft. Bidwell, and 25 juniper piles in the Cow Project, six miles northeast of Ft. Bidwell.
BLM Fire Management Officer Garth Jeffers said burning will be conducted only on days when conditions including temperature, winds and fuel moisture allow for safe and effective burning.
Additional information is available from the BLM Surprise Field Office, (530) 279-6101.
