Building, 660 Minnie Street, Condon Park in Grass Valley. Everyone who is interested in the South Yuba River is invited to attend. The U.S. Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, California Department of Parks and Recreation, and the Nevada County Planning Department will host the meeting. The four agencies are using the collaborative, or community-based planning process to create the plan. This process directly involves the public in determining the contents of the draft plan, instead of government agencies doing the planning themselves. At the September 9 planning meeting, draft planning assumptions and constraints will be introduced, and work will begin on a vision statement, which will guide the development of the plan. . The South Yuba River is a popular outdoor recreation destination for many Nevada County residents as well as people from outside the region who enjoy the opportunities for swimming, hiking, sunbathing and nature appreciation in the highly scenic river canyon.
