HANSEN COMMENDED BY LASSEN COUNTY SUPERVISORS

Linda D. Hansen, former field manager for the Bureau of Land Management in Susanville, has received a commendation from the Lassen County Board of Supervisors.

In a proclamation approved last week, the supervisors praised Hansen for her "...contribution to the quality of life, and enhancement of intergovernmental relations during her tour of service in Lassen County for the past 11 years."

Hansen, who became the BLM's Eagle Lake field manager in 1991, was recently named to manage the BLM's California Desert District in Southern California.  She will supervise management of more than 10 million acres of public lands.

"I am deeply honored by the Board of Supervisors' proclamation," Hansen said.  "I was fortunate to have had the opportunity to work in Lassen County, and I'm proud of what the BLM and the county were able to accomplish.  I have every confidence that the working relationship between Lassen County and the BLM will continue to flourish."

The proclamation cited Hansen's involvement and leadership on the Eagle Lake Interagency Board of Directors, the Susanville Ranch Park Steering Committee, the Susanville Interagency Fire Center and the BLM's Northeast California Resource Advisory Council.

"(Linda) was a strong supporter of the Bizz Johnson National Recreation Trail, and helped support major improvements...including the Caboose Visitor Center and Trailhead, improvements at the Susanville Railroad Depot and opening of the new South Lassen Street Bridge," the proclamation stated.
