Fontana (530) 252-5332 CA-N-03-18 TODD NAMED FIREFIGHTER OF THE YEAR Karl Todd, fire prevention officer for the Bureau of Land Management's
Eagle Lake Field Office, has received a "Firefighter of the Year"
award from the local post of the American Legion. He was one of several local firefighters and
law enforcement officers to receive awards during the Legion's annual
recognition ceremony Wednesday, Nov. 20. Todd has been a BLM firefighter since 1996. In his current position he works with
community groups, fire-safe councils and rural fire departments on projects to
prevent wildfire damage. "Additionally,
Karl maintains his qualifications as an engine captain. We can always call on him to help staff our
fire engines," said Don Holmstrom, acting BLM Eagle Lake field manager. "We are proud that the American Legion
has recognized Karl's professionalism and 'can-do' attitude. We also congratulate the other fire and law
