Fourmile Hill Oversight Committee Meets Sept. 3 in Yreka

A citizen oversight committee charged with reviewing development plans and monitoring data for the Fourmile Hill geothermal project near Medicine Lake will meet Tuesday, Sept. 3, at 7 p.m., at the Klamath National Forest Supervisor's Office, 1312 Fairlane Rd., Yreka. The meeting is open to the public.

The nine-member committee will hear a status report on the current geothermal exploration work at the project site. Staff from the Bureau of Land Management's Alturas field office, and from the Klamath National Forest, will attend the session. The agencies have regulatory responsibility for the project. Representatives from Calpine, the project developer, are also expected to attend.

The oversight group was established as part of BLM and Forest Service decisions that approved the geothermal project.

For more information on the meeting, contact BLM Alturas Field Manager Tim Burke at (530) 233-4666.
