BLM Seeks Public Comment on Proposal to Amend San Diego Gas & Electric Right-of-Way

The Bureau of Land Management has released an environmental assessment (EA) for public comment and review that analyzes a proposal to install additional communications equipment on the Red Mountain Communication site, located near Fallbrook, in San Diego County. This proposal, made by the San Diego Gas & Electric Company, would amend their existing right-of-way grant at this site.

The EA analyzes potential environmental impacts associated with the construction, operation, and maintenance of the project, which would include a 900 MHz radio base station, antenna, retaining wall and associated equipment.

Public comments on the EA for the proposed project should be forwarded to James G. Kenna, Field Manager, Bureau of Land Management, P.O. Box 581260, North Palm Springs, California 92258. Comments must be postmarked on or before September 30, 2002.

For more information regarding the San Diego Gas & Electric Company proposed project, contact Diane Gomez, BLM Realty Specialist at (760) 251-4852.
