The Bureau of Land Management's (BLM) El Centro Field Office has scheduled a workshop to help the public understand visitor use at the Imperial Sand Dunes as it relates to the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) and Draft Recreation Area Management Plan (DRAMP). The workshop will be held Monday, June 24, 2002, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Southwest High School Multipurpose Room, Building L, located at 2001 Ocotillo Drive in El Centro, Calif. Dr. Glenn Haas, a professor at Colorado State University and expert of visitor usage on public lands, will lead the workshop and be available to answer questions. This workshop is open to the public and should be especially helpful to anyone reviewing or submitting comments on the DEIS who would like a better understanding of visitor supply (use) and the Recreation Opportunity Spectrum.
