Round Mountain Planning Group to Meet

A public meeting of the Round Mountain Planning Group will take place at 7:00 pm on Monday, November 19, 2001 at the Diamond Arrow Christian Conference Center.  The Center is located at the intersection of North Bloomfield Road and Rock Creek Road in Nevada County.

According to Group Chairman Darrel Crain, the purpose of the meeting is to report on progress in working on a community-based, draft management plan for the Federal lands near Round Mountain, about four miles north of Nevada City.  When completed, the draft plan will be presented to the Bureau of Land Management for official adoption.  The goals of the draft plan include reducing the wildfire hazard, maintenance of open space, development of a mature forest, management of outdoor recreation, and resource protection.

For more information, contact the BLM's Folsom Field Office, 63 Natoma Street, Folsom, CA 95630, or call (916) 985-4474.
