BLM TO HOLD PUBLIC MEETING ON OHV GRANT REQUEST
Management issues at the Bureau of Land Management's Fort Sage Off Highway Vehicle Area near Doyle will be discussed, when the Bureau of Land Management hosts a public meeting Wednesday, Aug. 29, at 7 p.m., at the BLM Eagle Lake Field Office, 2950 Riverside Dr., Susanville.
Members of the BLM staff will be asking for public comments on the BLM's request for state grant funds that would be used for improvements at the Widowmaker Trailhead, and for other needs including facilities maintenance, law enforcement, wildlife and soils monitoring and equipment replacement at Fort Sage.
Funds, commonly referred to as "green sticker" funds, would come from the California Department of Parks and Recreation Off Highway Vehicle Recreation Division.
Those attending the meeting will also have the opportunity to discuss the current trail system, and the need for some trail realignment.
BLM staff will also provide information on impacts of the recent Fish Fire which burned on portions of the OHV area.
For additional information, contact BLM Outdoor Recreation Planner James Sippel at (530) 252-5312.
