Milt & Sandy

The scene opens with a desert setting, vegetation and rocks in the foreground and sand dunes in the background. Title appears: Milt & Sandy. A desert plant is sleeping. Suddenly the plant wakes up and hears a motorized vehicle. Somewhat confused, the plant looks around to see where the noise is coming from. Then its facial expression becomes sad, and an off-highway vehicle is seen driving towards the plant. The plant screams.

Moments later a family in an off-highway vehicle pulls over and a smiling BLM employee appears displaying a map in his hand. A closer look at the map reveals the designated roads and areas for off-highway vehicles in the area. The BLM employee points to the map. The family drives off and the BLM employee smiles.

The frightened plant sheds a tear of relief as the tire tracks to the left show how close it came. The family returns to their camp site and enjoy roasting marshmallows over the campfire.

The BLM employee contemplates what to do for the constituents who want to protect plants and for those who want to use a sand buggy. While he is thinking, lawsuits are being files in court.

The BLM employee finds himself surrounded by an angry crowd of constituents. Many are protesting and carrying signs:

"Sand Buggies love the desert too!"

"Closed Land"

"Save the vetch"

"BLM crossed out"

The protesters continue to yell out their complaints and the BLM employee finds himself in the middle trying to find resolution and compromise.
