Abstract
As of September 2007, there are no Wilderness Potential areas, in California.

Purpose
These data identifies the law as they are related to each Wilderness Area(s). In short, unless specified otherwise by Congress, BLM must ensure the preservation of wilderness character for all activities conducted within wilderness areas of their responsibility

Supplementary Information
Eldhorn Ridge was identified as Potential Wilderness Area. As of September 2007, this area is now declared by Congress as a Wilderness area. This area is managed by the Bureau of Land Management, Arcata Field Office, and located in Mendocino County, northwest of Laytonville, and is approximately 8,000 acres
