Abstract:

This coverage is a one degree block of USGS 100k transportation DLGs. Further attribution has been done to capture route numbers and jurisdiction (Federal, State, etc.). The data sets have a standardized naming convention as follows: the first three characters, rds, is a them abbrevation which stands for roads; the fouthe character, l, indicates that this is line (arc) data; the next five characters, LLlll, are the north latitude (LL) and the west longitude (lll) of the southeast corner of the one degree area; the last two characters, ax, are a code which indicates that the data set's geographic footprint is that of a one degree area.

Purpose:

The data is to be used to illustrate transportation (road) facilities at medium to small scale. This data will not match that portrayed on USGS 24k quads, or other large scale uses.
