|DOI-BLM-CA-D070-2015-0086-CX||CX||Lands and Realty||The proposed project is to establish a right-of-way (ROW) for the construction, use, operation, maintenance and termination of a joint use radio transmission and relay facility including a 12’ x 28’ equipment shelter, overall site grounding and lightning protection system, site grading, 20’ access road, 6’ tall chain link fencing, commercial power supply, a 290 foot self-supporting tower, a standby power generation system and propane tank, a microwave communications system, and such other site improvements which may be necessary at the Cahuilla Ranger Station in the north dunes of Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation Area (ISDRA) located off State Highway 78 and Gecko Road, Imperial County, CA. The Cahuilla Ranger Station radio facility will be co-located and operated under a Memorandum of Agreement between the BLM, Imperial Valley Emergency Communications Agency and the United States Navy. |2015-0085||CX||Recreation||Applicant proposes to conduct vehicle testing by Ford Motor Company during the time period of June 15 through June 19, 2015 within the Superstition and Plaster City Open OHV areas; specifically along approved surveyed routes within the open area. Vehicle testing is also proposed in the ISDRA specifically from Glamis Flats to Oldsmobile Hill, Oldsmobile Hill to Competition Hill via the sand highway paralleling Highway 78 and then Competition Hill to Pad 2.5 off of Gecko Road. Vehicles will not be using excessive speed or traversing steep terrain. No more than 15 vehicles will be testing per day and speeds will not exceed 35 mph. Approximately 15 to 20 people would be involved. No spectators are expected.
