Summary:  Gather operations concluded today at 8:30 a.m. and 87 degrees with 113 burros safely trapped.  The reason for the large gather numbers today was because burros in the area have been feeding on Cibola National Wildlife Refuge alfalfa fields, and they are concentrated in large numbers in this area.  The fields are planted to attract migratory waterfowl in the winter.  BLM will ship the burros in two shipments to Ridgecrest Friday June 15 and Saturday June16.
