Adoptions resumed at Florence Wild Horse and Burro Training and Holding Facility

The BLM has resumed weekly Friday adoptions at the Florence Wild Horse and Burro Training and Holding Facility, after BLM staff and the facililty veterinarian determined it is safe to allow movement of animals into and out of the facility. The BLM temporarily suspended adoptions in May because of an outbreak of vesticular stomatitis virus (VSV) in the state. No animals held by the BLM were infected; the suspension of adoptions was a precautionary measure.

Address questions to Roger Oyler, the BLM Arizona wild horse and burro manager, at 602-417-9421 or r2oyler@blm.gov.
