Arizona Strip Travel Management

The Bureau of Land Management's Arizona Strip Field Office is beginning a project to map proposed route designations for the House Rock, Main Street and Colorado City sub-regions. The preliminary proposed action is one that seeks to create a management network of routes available to a variety of users while limiting potential impacts to resources.

The route evaluation process developed by Advance Resource Solutions, Inc. is being conducted with cost share funding from Arizona State Parks via a Recreational Trails Program Grant, which requires that a public review process be conducted on an annual basis. A formal environmental analysis process with full public involvement will take place in 2008.

Preliminary maps will be available for public review beginning November 15 on the web links below as well as more detailed printed maps will be available at the Interagency Information Center, 345 E. Riverside Drive, St. George, UT. Public comments on the preliminary route proposals will be accepted until December 15 and will be utilized in refining the proposed action.
