Fortuna Pond is a popular camping and fishing destination in the Yuma area. During the winter months, largemouth bass, channel catfish, sunfish and rainbow trout can be caught in the 8.5-acre pond. You may fish from the shore or utilize a small boat. The site is open year-round; however, Yuma’s summer temperatures can reach 120 degrees, so please prepare accordingly if you plan on visiting in the summer months.
 
Location
Fortuna Pond is located approximately 12 miles northeast of Yuma, AZ.
 
Access
From Highway 95, turn north on Ave. 7 E and travel 1.5 miles to the levee. The levee is on the north side of the Main Outlet Drain. Turn east on the levee road and travel approximately 3.4 miles, Fortuna Pond will be on your left.

Fishing, camping, and picnicking.
 
Special Features
This site is co-managed by Bureau of Land Management, Arizona Game and Fish Department, and Bureau of Reclamation. This site is subject to seasonal fire restrictions each summer.
 
Permits, Fees, Limitations
Permits or fees are not required. There are no facilities at the site. You may camp on site for up to 14 days and you can drive and camp within 25 feet of the shore.  In addition to existing rules and regulations, there are supplemental rules which are used to help manage this campground.

A valid Arizona license is required for taking wildlife (including fish) in Arizona. Details are available at the Arizona Game and Fish License Page.   

Accessibility
A four-wheel-drive vehicle is not needed to access the site; however the levee road to the site and the roads around the site are dirt roads. The site does not have wheelchair accessible features or facilities.
 
Camping and Lodging
Camping is available on site for up to 14 days. Lodging is available in Yuma, AZ.
 
Food and Supplies
There are many large grocery stores and businesses supplying outdoor recreation needs in nearby Yuma, AZ.
 
First Aid
The nearest hospital is Yuma Regional Medical Center in Yuma, AZ. In the event of a medical or law enforcement emergency, please call 911. For non-emergencies, please call Yuma County Sheriff’s Office at 928-783-4427.
 
Additional Information 
A hunting and/or fishing license is required for the taking of legal fish or game. Contact Arizona Game and Fish Department at 928-342-0091 for details. There are no trash collection points at this site, please practice “Pack It In/Pack It Out.”
