Proposed Land Exchange in the Harvey's Fishing Hole Area

Yuma, AZ - The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Yuma Field Office is in the process of preparing an Environmental Assessment (EA) to evaluate the effects of a proposed land exchange and is holding an open house-style public scoping meeting to get public input.

Residents and interested parties are encouraged to attend. This scoping meeting will provide an opportunity for the public to learn about and comment on issues that should be addressed in the EA.

The proposal involves the exchange of one parcel of BLM-administered land (consisting of 27.82 acres) for five parcels of private land owned by Sportsman’s Paradise Incorporated (consisting of 225.85 acres). All the parcels proposed for exchange are in Imperial County, California, along the Colorado River, south of Palo Verde and east of State Route 78. The BLM-administered parcel proposed for exchange is currently under residential lease to Sportsman’s Paradise Incorporated.
