For Immediate Release: February 29, 2008 Contact: Scott Sticha, Public Affairs Specialist (435) 688-3303 Lecture Series Announced for March St. George, Utah – Archeology, recreation and partnerships will be the featured topics on Friday afternoons during the month of March. Presentations begin at noon and last approximately one hour. Programs are held at the Interagency Information Center, located at 345 E. Riverside Drive in St. George, UT. No program is scheduled for March 28. The “Brown Bag” lecture series will continue through April and provides information on a variety of local and regional resource management topics. The lecture series is sponsored by the Arizona Strip Interpretive Association, Bureau of Land Management, National Park Service and U.S. Forest Service. Admission is free, but space is limited. Obtain tickets in advance from the Interagency Information Center to reserve a seat. For more information call 435-688-3246. March 7: Puebloans, Puebloids, and Paiutes Celebrate Arizona Archeology Month with Grand Canyon – Parashant National Monument archeologist David Van Alfen. This program will bring to light some fascinating aspects of the earliest inhabitants of this area and those who followed in their footsteps. March 14: Kane and Two Mile Ranches – A Stewardship Story Ethan Aumack, Director of Restoration Programs for the Grand Canyon Trust (GCT) will describe assessment, research, monitoring and on-the-ground volunteer stewardship work that has been done since GCT purchased the Kane and Two Mile ranches in 2005. Come learn how you can participate in upcoming volunteer projects and receive beautiful vistas and spectacular sunsets as a reward. March 21: Jeeping 201 More hair-raising adventure from volunteer Paul Furr as he continues where he left off in February, and takes you on a photographic jeep tour through Monument Valley, Upper Paria River and Antelope Canyon.
