Abstract:
This is a coverage of National Monuments on BLM-managed lands in Arizona |

Metadata elements shown with blue text are defined in the Federal Geographic Data Committee's (FGDC) Content Standard for Digital Geospatial Metadata (CSDGM). Elements shown with green text are defined in the ESRI Profile of the CSDGM. Elements shown with a green asterisk (*) will be automatically updated by ArcCatalog. ArcCatalog adds hints indicating which FGDC elements are mandatory; these are shown with gray text.

Attribute accuracy is tested by manually comparing hard copy plots of the digital data with source materials or by interactively querying and verifying on the screen.
The data has be checked to make sure that all intended polygons are closed, that there are no unintended undershoots or dangles and that there is only one label point per polygon. This does not preclude the presence of one or omre of these errors.
In draft. Verification by AZ BLM Field Offices to be done.
Data were compiled on 1:24,000 scale USGS paper or mylar quads and digitized from those manuscripts. Edits have been done in ArcInfo.

The natural, manmade, or mapping feature that represents a particular segment of the national monument boundary (e.g., if the boundary line follows a stream, the NM_DEF_FEATURE would be "stream". Entries for this field should be lower case.

This value refers to the actual source of the defining feature. It is the digital map source of the original arc that makes up the wilderness boundary. For example, if a portion of the boundary is a contour line the NM_DEF_FEATURE would be contour and the NM_COORD_SOURCE would be 24K Digital Elevation Model (DEM). If other coverage's are used then the NM_COORD_SOURCE would be the coverage name. For example, 100K DLG or 24K DLG.

This value refers to the official name of the national monument. It may contain spaces, plus a combination of upper and lowercase alpha characters. For example, Ironwood National Monument. Inholding polygons should be labeled "inholding".
National Landscape Conservation System GIS Boundary Data Standards
This value refers to the serialized case file number for each National Monument. This field should be in uppercase. For example, AZ035582. Inholding polygons should not be given a casefile number.

Vermilion Cliffs N.M.
Grand Canyon-Parashant N.M.
Agua Fria N.M.
Ironwood Forest N.M.
Sonoran Desert N.M.
This value refers to the official name of the National Monument. It may contain spaces, plus a combination of upper and lowercase alpha characters. For example, Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument. Inholding polygons should be labeled "inholding".
National Landscape Conservation System GIS Boundary Data Standards
This value refers to the administrative State for the National Monument. This field should be the two digit uppercase code for the State. For example, CA.
