Metadata elements shown with blue text are defined in the Federal Geographic Data Committee's (FGDC) Content Standard for Digital Geospatial Metadata (CSDGM). Elements shown with green text are defined in the ESRI Profile of the CSDGM. Elements shown with a green asterisk (*) will be automatically updated by ArcCatalog. ArcCatalog adds hints indicating which FGDC elements are mandatory; these are shown with gray text.
GIS data used in the 2007 BLM Lake Havasu Field Office RMP (in Arizona and California) for approved utility corridors.
For regional analysis and display at 1:100,000. This dataset was prepared/acquired for use in the Lake Havasu Field Office Resource Management Plan.
Dataset locally known as utilcorridors_RMP.shp. This dataset and other datasets in the Lake Havasu Field Office Geographic Information Database represent data for the BLM Lake Havasu Field Office.
publication date
This data should be used in conjunction with the Lake Havasu Field Office RMP of 2007. This data should not be used at a scale larger than 1:100,000. The data and corresponding attributes are only as accurate as the source maps from which they were obtained, and may vary depending on the data and method of acquisition. This data is suitable for regional planning, management decision support at intermediate scales (i.e. 1:100,000 or smaller), and cartographic purposes. The data is not suitable for analysis at scales larger than 1:100,000. If the Receiving Agency (RA) has modified the data in any way, they are obligated to describe the types of modifications they have performed on hardcopy maps utilizing the data. RA specifically agrees not to misrepresent LHFO datasets or to imply that any changes made were approved by BLM LHFO. No warranty is made by the BLM for use of the data for purposes not intended by BLM. This information may be updated without notification.

Data was reviewed for correct topological structure. Duplicate lines have been removed.
The dataset is considered complete for utility corridors in the Lake Havasu Field Office Resource Management Plan (2007).
Overall horizontal accuracy for this data is not greater than national mapping accuracy standards (NMAS) for USGS source maps. Snapping and coordinate shift tolerances were maintained at 0.01 meters or less through editing. Horizontal positional accuracy for the digital data set was tested by visual comparison of the source data with hard copy verification plots.

A line layer was screen digitized from a scanned georeferenced Yuma RMP map. The lines were buffered based on the width described in the RMP to produce the corridors. The same process was used for utility corridor line data received from KFO which was clipped to the LHFO DRMP map boundary. A similar process was used for the Lower Gila North and South (Phoenix) corridors except that the line data had to be constructed based on text in the planning documents using ROW data to aid in construction. The bufferred data was then merged to create the utilcorridorsAlt1 layer.

The Alternative 1 corridors were modified based on the text for the Preferred Alternative and Alternative 4 which balanced additional corridor needs and resource protection.

utilcorridorsAlt4PA.shp was modified based on comments received during the Draft RMP comment period. The CAP corridor was returned to the south side requirement.

UtilcorridorsPA.shp was modified to include a field to show the corridors that are also transportation corridors for the Approved RMP 2007.
Dataset reprojected from NAD 1927 UTM Zone 12 to NAD 1983 UTM Zone 12 using NADCON. Metadata updated.

Attribute items are in typical ArcInfo point, line and polygon format.
The BufferDist field shows the buffer distance used to create the corridors which is half the width of the proposed corridor in miles. The Label field is used for map labels. The Name field shows the name associated with the corridor. Dec_Doc is the name of the decision document that approved the corridor. Restrict identifies any restrictions to the approved corridor. Origin identifies the line data filename that was buffered to create the corridor.
