GPS Trails data collected from 1990 to 2004 in the Lake Havasu Field Office and adjacent areas with additions from 2005 through 2007. This area includes parts of the following counties: Mohave, La Paz, Yavapai, and Maricopa in Arizona and San Bernardino in California. |

GPS Trails data collected from 1990 to 2004 in the Lake Havasu Field Office and adjacent areas with additions from 2005 through 2007. This area includes parts of the following counties: Mohave, La Paz, Yavapai, and Maricopa in Arizona and San Bernardino in California.
This data is intended to be the complete inventory of existing trails in the Lake Havasu Field Office Approved Resource Management Plan of 2007. This will be the base data used in route designation.
Data sources vary as follows: 1. Parker Strip, California side collected by Les Allert in 1990. 2. Harcuvar Area collected by Les Allert in 1995. 3. From I-40 to AZ Hwy 72 in AZ east to Alamo Dam Road collected by Becca Hooker 1995-97. 4. East of Alamo Road and north of the Harcuvar Area collected by Les Allert in 2000. 5. Bullhead area collected by Recreation Solutions in 2004. 6. Lake Havasu area State Lands and reinventory of the Standard Wash area collected by Recreation Solutions in 2004. 7. Bouse South for the LaPosa Plan collected by Yuma Field Office in 1997, but may be only digitized from topo. 8. Reinventory of Bouse South, inventory of Bouse North, east to Field Office boundary in the Harquahala area collected by Recreation Solutions in 2004. 9. California side of Lake Havasu, Chemehuevi Wash and Needles area collected by CA BLM Cadastral Survey in 2004. 10. Aubrey Hills area collected by Becca Hooker and Les Allert in 1997, Horse trails in same area collected by Equestrian volunteers in 2004.

The data was collected using approved data dictionaries by trained contractors and other trained users. Previous data dictionaries did not collect all of the data included in the current data dictionary. Therefore, attribute data is incomplete and should be updated in the future.
Trained use of the data dictionary should minimize errors. Data not included in previous data dictionaries needs update.
All data was collected using resource grade GPS corrected from base stations. Mode of transportation included ATV(60%), Motorcycle(28%), Foot(1%), Four wheel drive SUV(10%), and horse(1%).
At the publication date, the data should be near 100% complete. The inventory has been updated through the Draft Lake Havasu RMP comment period as missing trails were identified. The inventory concentrated on public (BLM) lands. State, private and other lands may not have complete inventories in this dataset.
All data was collected using resource grade GPS corrected from base stations.

GPS data was intergrated into the trails dataset as inventories were completed in order to have one complete layer for the Lake Havasu Field Office. Attribute data was updated as data dictionaries changed. The data was checked for duplicates and Route Numbers were assigned.

The first 70 % of the data was collected using a standard AZ BLM State data dictionary. Recreation Solutions, working with Phoenix Field Office And AZ State Lands Dept. developed a different data dictionary and it was used for most of the remaining data collection. The CA BLM Cadastrial Survey data used a third data dictionary. The final set of attributed in this dataset is based upon the Recreation Solutions data dictionary that has now been adopted by AZ BLM GIS. The dataset includes several additional fields from the original data dictionary, mostly refering to designations and restrictions.
