Abstract:
GIS data used in the 2007 BLM Lake Havasu Field Office RMP (in Arizona and California) for new areas available for disposal. This GIS data along with disposals from previous plans (disposal_prevplans.shp) and R&PP leases available for disposal (disposal_R&PP), compose the complete set of disposals. |

Metadata elements shown with blue text are defined in the Federal Geographic Data Committee's (FGDC) Content Standard for Digital Geospatial Metadata (CSDGM). Elements shown with green text are defined in the ESRI Profile of the CSDGM. Elements shown with a green asterisk (*) will be automatically updated by ArcCatalog. ArcCatalog adds hints indicating which FGDC elements are mandatory; these are shown with gray text.

For regional analysis and display at 1:100,000. This dataset was prepared/acquired for use in the Lake Havasu Field Office Resource Management Plan.
Dataset locally known as disposals_RMP.shp. This dataset and other datasets in the Lake Havasu Field Office Geographic Information Database represent data for the BLM Lake Havasu Field Office.
publication date
This data should be used in conjunction with the Lake Havasu Field Office RMP of 2007. This data should not be used at a scale larger than 1:100,000. The data and corresponding attributes are only as accurate as the source maps from which they were obtained, and may vary depending on the data and method of acquisition. This data is suitable for regional planning, management decision support at intermediate scales (i.e. 1:100,000 or smaller), and cartographic purposes. The data is not suitable for analysis at scales larger than 1:100,000. If the Receiving Agency (RA) has modified the data in any way, they are obligated to describe the types of modifications they have performed on hardcopy maps utilizing the data. RA specifically agrees not to misrepresent LHFO datasets or to imply that any changes made were approved by BLM LHFO. No warranty is made by the BLM for use of the data for purposes not intended by BLM. This information may be updated without notification.

Data was reviewed for correct topological structure. Duplicate lines have been removed.
The dataset is considered complete for the Approved new areas available for disposal in the Lake Havasu Field Office RMP. These are areas requested by the public or BLM. The complete set of disposal lands includes this dataset along with previous plan disposals (disposals_prevplan.shp) and existing R&PP leases available for disposal (disposal_R&PP.shp).
Overall horizontal accuracy for this data is not greater than national mapping accuracy standards (NMAS) for USGS source maps. Snapping and coordinate shift tolerances were maintained at 0.01 meters or less through editing. Horizontal positional accuracy for the digital data set was tested by visual comparison of the source data with hard copy verification plots.

Public comments received during scoping for Lake Havasu Field Office Draft RMP
As comments were received during the scoping process, the requested parcels were added to create the data layer. GCDB data was used to snap the data to the correct positions. Proposed parcels were evaluated to determine if they meet the criteria for disposal and removed if they did not meet the criteria.

RMPpropdisposalAlt3.shp was modified to create the Preferred Alternative and Alternative 4 based on the text in the LHFODRMP to reduce conflicts with affected resources. The data was corrected after the LHFODRMP was printed in order to match the text.

Attribute items are in typical ArcInfo point, line and polygon format. The dataset includes boundaries for areas available for disposal within the Lake Havasu Field Office. The attributes include the comment number that requested the area, the purpose for the request, and whether the disposal should be for R&PP lease only.
The disposal areas are shown as polygons. The Comment field gives the number designating the comment received. The Min_Purpos field gives the purpose of the request if given. The Min_R_PP field indicates if proposed for R&PP lease only.
