Abstract:
Boundaries of Arizona Bureau of Land Management's Land Use Plans (Resource Management Plans {RMPs} and Amendments).

Purpose:
To delineate the planning boundaries of Arizona and to determine which plan boundaries are still current. There is expected to be an update to this dataset when the Ironwood Forest National Monument plan has a signed ROD. There will be an expected update when the Lower Sonoran RMP ROD is signed. The older boundaries should not be assumed to be a comprehensive list of all plans ever signed in Arizona. Use a status=current query to view only plans current as of August 2010.

Created by Marcia Rickey, EMPSi, 303-447-7160, BLM contractor, in conjunction with Jack Johnson, AZ State Office (SO) BLM GIS Specialist, 303-417-9329 and Chris Horyza, AZ SO BLM Planner. Created August 2010. Created by using old GIS data from AZ SO BLM and current field office boundaries. FO boundaries have been the basis for newer plan boundaries and will be the basis for new plan boundaries. When a new plan overlaps the boundary of an old plan, the new plan becomes valid for that geographic boundary. See Arizona BLM's Land Use Plans webpage for official plan names. This data is more updated than map on AZ BLM planning website. This data was made at an Arizona-statewide scale, and therefore may not be suitable for detailed, field-office level analyses.
