Remain Plugged with Snow!

Paxson Lake Campground entrance plugged with snow

As of Friday, May 25, Brushkana Creek, Tangle Lakes and Paxson Lake campground entrances remain plugged with snow.  Portions of the Denali Highway received a foot of fresh snow this past weekend.  On the Richardson Highway, Sourdough Creek Campground is open, with no drinking water, wet conditions and limited services.  The Gulkana River is still frozen.  Visitors should stay clear of the boat launch area, which historically floods during break-up.  We will continue to update this web page as new information becomes available.  Travelers are urged to check 511.gov.alaska for updates on travel conditions along the Denali Highway. Call the BLM Glennallen Field Office at 907-822-3217 for more information pertaining to campground closures.
