BLM Requests Comments on Kobuk-Seward Peninsula Draft Resource Management Plan / Environmental Impact Statement
FAIRBANKS, AK – The Bureau of Land Management ( BLM) is releasing the Kobuk-Seward Peninsula Draft Resource Management Plan/Environmental Impact Statement (RMP/EIS) for a 90-day period of public review and comment. The RMP/EIS will provide management guidance for resource decisions on 13.1 million acres of BLM-administered public land in northwest Alaska.
The public is invited to review and comment on the range and adequacy of the draft alternatives and associated environmental effects. For comments to be most helpful, they should relate to specific concerns or conflicts that are within the legal responsibilities of the BLM and can be resolved in this planning process.
The Kobuk-Seward Peninsula Draft RMP/EIS is available in print and on compact disc by contacting Jeanie Cole via email at jeanie_cole@blm.gov or via phone at 907-474-2340. Written comments should be mailed or hand delivered to the BLM Fairbanks District Office, Kobuk-Seward Peninsula RMP/EIS, 1150 University Avenue, Fairbanks, AK 99709-3844. Comments may also be sent via email to Jeanie Cole, Planning Team Leader, at: ksp_comments@blm.gov . All comments must be received on or before August 4, 2006.
