East Alaska Planning Area

Map showing the East Alaska planning areaThe East Alaska planning area includes 6.8 million acres of BLM-administered public land in eastern Alaska and the Bering Glacier. The planning area extends from the southern slopes of the Alaska Range to the Chugach Mountains, from the Talkeetna Mountains to the Wrangell Mountains, and includes an extensive area of coastline in Prince William Sound. The area is bisected by the Glenn, Richardson and Denali Highways, and is accessible by Alaska standards. The area is also bisected by the Trans-Alaska Pipeline, which runs north to south and roughly parallels the Richardson Highway.
