National Petroleum Reserve - Hardrock Minerals

The National Petroleum Reserve - Alaska(NPRA) is closed to mining under the current law. Several years ago, the BLM-Alaska developed hardrock minerals information for the NPRA briefing book and participated in presentations to the Department of Interior staff. The BLM developed a preliminary plan for drilling some of the most promising prospects in NPRA. Industry representatives and the Alaska Miners Association have been briefed on the proposal.
