WHAT COUNTS TOWARDS THIS TRAINING REQUIREMENT?
Memorandum EOD 1997-14 states that “training should include valuing and managing diversity, affirmative employment, alternative dispute resolution, reasonable accommodation, prevention of complaints and sexual harassment.”
Managers and supervisors should ensure that they select courses covering the broader areas of diversity, such as various cultures, sexual orientation, and other characteristics that must be considered when managing a diverse workforce.
The Department of Interior's Office of Civil Rights has remained flexible in determining what courses can fulfill the minimum four hours of training requirement. To view potential topics, please click on the “Recommended Subjects” category
