|Chuitna River public easements|
The BLM proposes to terminate the following public easements at the Chuitna River:
The above easements were reserved subject to federal determination of navigability when the lands were conveyed to Tyonek Native Corporation in 1991 under Section 17(b) of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act.
The BLM has since determined that the Chuitna River does not meet the federal test of navigability, nor is it a major waterway providing access to public lands or travel between communities.
The BLM accepted written comments regarding this proposal from June 1, 2011, through July 31, 2011. The BLM is currently reviewing those comments and will issue a decision in the near future.
