BLM to Analyze Proposed Production Well in the National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska

The BLM today announced a Notice of Intent to conduct an environmental review for a proposed oil and gas production well in the 23 million-acre National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska (NPR-A). If approved, the Greater Mooses Tooth-2 (GMT2) project would be the second oil and gas development project authorized on Federal lands in the NPR-A. Read more>

BLM releases Contaminated Lands Report; Effort Establishes Step towards Cleanup

The BLM delivered a report to Congress today that details the development and current status of the most comprehensive inventory to date of known contaminated sites on lands conveyed to Alaska Native corporations through the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA). In addition, the report also provides recommendations for fully addressing cleanup of all the conveyed contaminated sites. Read more>
